Porsche's new car!

After a somewhat dissapointing display at the Geneva Motor Show this year, Porsche have suddenly hit us with their next epic creation. It's a new variation of their full sized SUV- the Cayenne. However, it's had the rear of the roof squashed slightly to make it the Porsche Cayenne Coupé, a direct rival to the BMW X6.
In my opinion, just off of looks alone, the Porsche is a much more appealing vehicle and that's disregarding the performance figures of the inflated Panamera.

But before we jump into the Porsche, lets have a look at the BMW's stats.
In it's highest engine spec, you'll be paying a minimum of around £75,000, your money gets you a 3.0L diesel I6 engine pumping 381hp and 740nm of torque. These figures push the car from 0-62mph in 5.2 seconds which, for the size, is rather swift. But how does that compare to the Porsche?

Well, it seems really quite feeble when one of the first things is the fact that the Porsche has a petrol V8. However, in it's highest engine spec, it starts at a whopping £104,729 which is a good £29,729 on top of the X6. But for that money you do get a 4.0L Turbo V8 which pushes out 542hp (550ps) and 770nm of torque, this means that you'll be doing the 0-62mph sprint in just 3.9 seconds. That's decade old supercar times in a truly super SUV! Also, just in case you wanted to, you can get it to a top speed of 177mph with all of your holiday luggage so you'll never be late to the airport again.
Although this car hasn't come without causing some controversy, just like any new car, as some people are saying that we don't need any more SUV's saturating the market at this time. After all, every car company under the sun seems to be building SUVs now; from Ford to Lamborghini, everyone wants a slice of the money making pie. But you have to consider that Porsche aren't a silly company. Their profits have been on the rise for a long time which means they currently top the list as the highest grossing company in the VAG, so if they feel there is space for a Cayenne Coupé then there's space for a Cayenne Coupé.
