It's that time of year again where most big automakers release their new cars!
So far, we've seen some interesting cars from Ferrari, Koenigsegg, Aston Martin, Bugatti and Pininfarina.
Ferrari have released the 488GTB replacement, the F8 Tributo. It will have the same powertrain as the 488 Pista, meaning it'll be pushing 720hp in a more 'dailyable' vehicle. This immediately gets me thinking about what the hardcore, track focused version of the F8 will be like. 750-800hp? Could be very interesting indeed.

Now onto Aston Martin, they have unveiled the AM-RB003 and the Vanquish Vision Concept. Both of these vehicles will be powered by the same engine but will be in very different price ranges. As I talked about last time, the engine of choice is the new hybrid V6 that Aston Martin are developing.

The AM-RB 003 will cost near on £1,000,000 and will be the 'next generation' of hypercar. Consider it the 918, P1 or LaFerrari of the future, 2021 to be more precise. It has a similar function to the McLaren Speedtail at the rear end, bendy carbon fibre. The rear wing plane will be made of a new carbon technology which can bend with the airflow to provide more or less downforce depending on speed. This takes a whole new side to active aerodynamics, it has a similar front end to the Valkyrie, albeit less exposed. While no downforce figures have been confirmed yet, we can imagine that it'll be very, very fast.

The Vanquish Vision Concept (left) is powered by the same V6 as the AM-RB 003 but will be detuned to make it more competitive in the supercar market, rather than the hypercar market. This means it'll have somewhere in the 700-800hp mark as it is made to compete against the McLaren 720S and Ferrari F8 Tributo. It will come in at around £200,000 to compete with the other cars. It will continue the design style of the Valkyrie and 003 but again to a lesser extent. It will have another step down in downforce and it will be more covered once again. But I'm expecting this to hit some pretty impressive lap times for it's category.
Moving to the famous Swedish brand, Koenigsegg. They've released the Agera RS replacement, called the Jesko. It will carry the same 5.0 V8 twin turbo engine as the Agera RS but it will be heavily modified to produce a massive 1600hp when running on E85 fuel. To put this to the ground, Koenigsegg have developed a new 9-speed gearbox that is only 10kg heavier than the previous 7-speed that the Agera RS had. However, this includes the weight of the flywheel, starter motor and a couple of other components that will almost definitely add up to more than 10kg. Only Koenigsegg are so technologiccally advanced that they can reduce the weight, by adding things.

Downforce wise, it'll have a lot. At 155mph (really not much for this beast), it'll generate 800kg; at 171mph, it'll generate 1,000kg and at it's top speed (we'll get to that later), it'll generate upwards of 1,400kg.
Now, speaking of the top speed. It's high, very high. But that comes at a cost, Koenigsegg will give you the option for either a high downforce (figures shown earlier) or a low downforce verison which will only generate around 500kg of downforce. But if you do opt to spec the low downforce version, your Koenigsegg Jesko will reach over 300mph! While Hennessey and Bugatti tell their customers that the cars will do 300mph, if Koenigsegg says it's true, then it's true.

It gets it's name from Christian Von Koenigsegg's father. Jesko Von Koenigsegg. Christian decided to surprise his 80 year old father with this at the Geneva Motor Show, he chose this name as his father belived in him when he was just 22 years old. Jesko made a lot of sacrifices to help Christian's dream of building his own cars and it was clearly worth it considering Koenigsegg are now one of the most well known hypercar brands in the world. Price wise, it'll be around £3,000,000 so it's not exactly on the cheap end of the spectrum. It'll certainly be very impressive to see this thing around also to see if it's the first production car to break the magical 300mph barrier.
To France now to see what Bugatti has brought to the table, it just so happens that it's very expensive. The most expensive brand new car in the world to be exact, overtaking the Rolls Royce Sweptail at $12.8 million. The Bugatti La Voiture Noire sits pretty at a handy $15 million, a large pricetag indeed.

Styling wise, it's very similar to the Chiron and Divo, more of a mix between the two. Drivetrain wise, it''l be almost exactly the same as the Chiron with the 8.0 W16 with 4 turbos generating 1500hp. It's a hark back to the original Bugattis in the 1940s and will be only for the most exclusive of buyers, hence the price tag.
Finally, I want to talk about Pininfarina's new hypercar- the Pininfarina Battista.

This is the worlds fastest electric car. It will gain this title thanks to it's 1,900 electrically generated horsepower. This will mean the acceleration will be silly fast. The current super/hypercars are hitting 0-60 mph times of around 2.5-3 seconds. The Battista will be capable of smashing that down to a face-melting time of under 2 seconds. Madness. Not only is the 0-60 time despicably fast, but so is the 0-186mph time. To be precise, you'll be able to be at nearly 200mph in under 12 seconds. There are some 'normal' cars that can't even hit 60mph in that amount of time.

It utilises a carbon monocoque which houses the Rimac developed batteries as low to the floor as possible to provide the best weight distribution and centre of mass as possible. With a price tag of £2,000,000 it's not cheap, but it'll almost certainly be quicker at accelerating than anything with an internal combustion engine for the same price.
There will likely be more unveilings and I may cover some more quirky cars to be shown off at the Geneva International Motor Show. Thanks for reading!
